VERA

VERA, the Virtual Experience Research Accelerator, is the research platform behind behavioural and VR studies. A study defined once in the web application runs unmodified in an immersive environment, so a researcher describes an experiment once rather than twice.

A React front end over an Express API on AWS handles configuration, participants, and scheduling, while a Unity client consumes the same experiment definitions and returns structured results against them. Neither client owns the definition of a study on its own.

Research data has to stay trustworthy months after collection, so definitions are versioned and results always resolve against the configuration that produced them. Studies are often extended by researchers rather than engineers, so much of the role is review.
