Task Pilot

A task management application built as an installable PWA, with a React front end over an Express API, packaged for iOS and Android with Capacitor from one codebase.

Full stack: Node.js · Express · React

Overview

Task Pilot runs as a single codebase across three targets: the browser, an installable PWA, and native iOS and Android shells through Capacitor. A React front end talks to an Express API, and a single build serves all three of those surfaces without any divergence.

Most of the interesting work sits where a web application stops behaving like a native one. Safe-area padding clears the notch and the home indicator, and theme colours follow the user's own stated preference wherever the host platform allows them to be set.

Keyboard handling covers both Chrome on Android, which resizes the layout viewport, and iOS Safari, which needs a separately measured inset instead. A separate mobile client would have drifted out of sync with the web one within about two or three releases.
